Barrington Tops National Park is located just west of Gloucester and contains many family friendly (and not so friendly) activities such as camping, bushwalking, hiking, fishing, 4WD tracks and much more. Having travelled there with family as a child it is very much family friendly and there is plenty to do even with the little ones. With a multitude of campgrounds all differing in location it is a perfect getaway for anyone seeking an adventure or just a time to relax.

With the Gloucester River running along its many camping sites, there are plenty of streams and waterholes to have a swim (but beware as the water can be extremely cold during the cooler months!). Ladies Well is a perfect place to have a dip as it is in close proximity to a nearby campground and also has a very deep pool, a jump rock, and also various natural "water slides" formed from rock, moss and rushing water. These waterways are also teeming with life, with tadpoles, frogs, and in some places various species of fish and yabbies, residing in these natural waterparks.
During the night campfires are permitted and being away from suburban life the skies are lit up as the stars are clearly visible. All in all Barrington Tops National Park is a must for any camping enthusiasts, adventurers and even the humble suburban family seeking a getaway.
