After only ever visiting Paris on school trips, my best friend Alice and I decided to hop on the Eurostar for a weekend in the famous city.We eventually arrived in our hotel, unpacked as quickly as possible and got ready to go and see the sites. We were told the Eiffel Tower was just a 15 minute walk from our hotel and after navigating the winding streets with extremely tall buildings we finally saw the monument, although smaller than I had imagined the tower looked spectacular in front of the summers blue sky. After a long queue we finally got tickets to go up. After climbing the 1710 steps we made it to the top! From up there it felt like you could see the whole of France, you could literally see for miles. We eventually arrived in our hotel, unpacked as quickly as possible and got ready to go and see the sites. After making it back down to the ground we decided to go on a relaxing boat tour down the River Seine. The experience was definitely worth it, you got a front row view of the river bank and all the interesting things it had along it. The bridges you go under whilst sailing along are all exquisitely designed.
Alice and I then ventured to the Arc De Triomphe which is situated in the middle of a huge busy roundabout, therefore can only be accessed by going under ground. After enough heights for one day we decided not to go up it but it was amazing being able to get a closer look at such an iconic monument.

On the next day we decided that whilst in Paris we had to visit The Louvre Museum where we got to see the Mona Lisa herself. Seeing such a famous painting in real life was a surreal experience, the security is so high though that you can't even get very close to the painting and its contained in a thick glass case.

We then went to the Cathedral of Notre Dame which was beautiful, just along from the cathedral is the Pont de l'Archevêché, a famous bridge where people can lock locks on to. The bridge was covered in locks all along the bridge, we struggled to find a space to put ours but we managed to lock ours in the middle with our names on it.

What girls weekend away is complete without a bit of shopping? We went to the Champs-Élysées, a place famous all over the world for its shops. With so many designer brands, Alice and I spent hours in all the shops and especially Saphora, the biggest makeup shop I have ever seen.
